| Statistics from a 2001 Gallup Poll state that between 1990 and 2001, more than 32% of all pastors left the ministry vowing never to return. The situation in deaf ministry is more severe: During that same time period, 47% of deaf churches closed or merged. Pastoral burnout is a serious issue in Deaf ministry.
