Privacy Policy

DVC does not knowingly accept or use personal information from children 15 years old or younger. If you are 15 years old or younger, you must get permission from a parent before submitting any information to the DVC website.
Computer Information

DVC does not collect any information about your computer, such as your browser type or IP address. Some of this information may be collected by our internet hosting partner. This information is available to DVC only in the form of aggregate statistics, such as how many visitors have used the DVC website each day, and is used only to determine how the website is being used and how it can be improved. It is not available to DVC in any way that can be connected to you personally.
Personal Profile Information

Some areas of the DVC website, such as the library and donations pages, may ask you to supply information about yourself including, but not limited to, your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, etc. This is necessary in order for DVC to send you receipts, videotapes, or any other information.

If you choose to create a login for the DVC website, your profile information will be stored in a secure database. This makes it possible for you to use the DVC website repeatedly without entering your profile information each time you make a donation or tape request. We do not sell or share the information in our database with any other individual or organization.

In some cases, DVC may use the information in our database to send newsletters or other information about our ministry. If you do not wish to receive information from DVC, you may indicate that in your profile on the DVC website or send an email to requesting that you be removed from the DVC mailing list.


Sections of the DVC website may store cookies on your computer. These are pieces of information that you have given us and that are only accessible to the DVC website. This information is used for the purpose of identifying you if you choose to request video tapes from our library or to make a donation to DVC.
Credit Card Numbers

DVC uses a credit card service to process credit card information. When a donation or purchase is made, DVC receives the name and contact information of the person who made the donation as well as the amount donated. At no time does DVC have access to credit card numbers used to make donations or purchases on the DVC website.
Surveys and Polls

At times DVC may offer voluntary polls or surveys on the DVC website. These are used to understand the needs of visitors and improve the quality of the DVC website. We will not associate answers to survey questions with the identity of individuals. DVC may on occasion share the aggregate results or a results summary with other organizations or individuals. DVC will not, however, share the identities of those who participated in the poll or survey.

DVC and its internet partners maintain physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure any and all information collected online, in compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. Information provided by visitors is transmitted on servers located in the United States and protected against unauthorized access and disclosure.
Purchases and Contributions

All financial transactions on the DVC website, including contributions and product purchases, are in U.S. dollars.
Contribution Refunds

Financial contributions made to DVC are final and cannot be refunded, except in special circumstances, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Make sure to double-check all values and dollar amounts before confirming an online donation.
Tax Deductions

All contributions to DVC are deductible for income tax purposes according to IRS section 501(c)(3). Email receipts will be sent for all donations made using the DVC website. In some cases, DVC may also choose to send a paper receipt through the mail. If you do not receive a receipt, either by email or mail, within 30 days, please contact DVC using the information on the contact page.
Special Gifts and Incentives

At times, DVC may offer special gifts or incentives for donors. If these items have cash value, by law DVC must deduct the value of these items from the donated amount when providing a receipt. In such cases, a paper receipt may be sent that disagrees with the amount on the email receipt sent by the DVC website. The value on the paper receipt should be used for all tax purposes.
Use of Funds

All contributions are made with the understanding that Deaf Video Communications has complete control over the use and administration of the donated funds. All donations are for use in giving Godís Word to the Deaf.
Return Policy
Unopened Items

Items returned unopened, in their original packaging, may be returned within 60 days of delivery for a full refund for any reason.
Damaged and Defective Items

Items purchased from DVC that are defective or become damaged in shipping may be returned within 60 days of delivery for replacement or full refund. If DVC does not have stock available to supply a replacement, DVC may choose to provide a refund. Note that many of the DVD products the DVC offers for sale are recorded ("burned") on DVD-R media. Some players are not compatible with this type of media or have problems playing these discs. This can sometimes be solved by using a different player. Replacing these discs will often not solve the problem since the replacement discs will be made with the same media.

Defective items may be returned after 60 days for replacement, provided that the items do not have any kind of damage, such as DVDs that are scratched, stained, smudged, dirty, or have fingerprints on the playing surface. If you wish to return damaged items after 60 days, DVC may choose to provide a replacement at reduced cost but is not obligated to do so. After 60 days, damaged items will not be replaced free of charge nor will any refunds be given except in special circumstances, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Clearance Items

Items sold as "Clearance" items may not be returned unless defective or damaged in shipping. Damaged items may still be returned within 60 days for replacement or refund. Because DVC has a limited supply of these items, replacement product may not be available. In those cases, DVC may choose to provide a refund rather than a replacement product. After 60 days, clearance items may not be returned for any reason.
Specially Marked Items

Some items may occasionally be specially marked or listed with terms that contradict the terms and conditions listed here. In such cases, the terms and conditions in the product listing override these terms and conditions for all sales, provided that the special terms and conditions are listed for the entire duration of the sale process.
Price Changes and Sales

DVC reserves the right to change prices on any product at any time without warning, or to offer items for sale at a discount. Refunds will not be given to those who may have already purchased the same items at full price.
